Artist-in-Residence programme at quartier21/MuseumsQuartier Vienna 2016

The artist-in-residence programme of the quartier21/MuseumsQuartier provides young artists from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and the Slovak Republic with a guest studio at Museums-Quartier. Every year, nine artists are given the opportunity to spend one or two months in Vienna and live and work in one of the artist-in-residence studios. tranzit is responsible for selecting these artists. Furthermore, tranzit.at is based at quartier21/MuseumsQuartier.

ERSTE Foundation is the main partner of tranzit and also provides financing for the artist-in-residence programme curated by tranzit. ERSTE Foundation evolved from the Erste Österreichische Spar-Casse in 2003. As the main shareholder of Erste Group it invests in the development of society in Austria and Central and South Eastern Europe. It supports social participation and civil-society commitment.
