I have been engaged in exploring all the (art-related) events and processes that are still to be uncovered and made known in order to understand what preparatory measures were taken in paving the way for the regime change. I feel that it is precisely the (sometimes intentional) lack of knowledge about – and disregard for – these (a suddenly executed early canonization process with few precedents and even less possibilities, involving brutal selection) that cause the incompleteness and the absence of shared discourse so characteristic of the ‘80s. The phenomenon of the political domain assuming full authority, in my opinion, could not have taken place without, for example, the fragmentation of the sphere of art.
